Heloise Maylin - fine art
Last update - 2nd November 2011
Heloise Maylin studied at Duncan of Jordanstone College of art from 1992 1996 and graduated with a BA(hons) fine art, sculpture. During this time she also experimented with print, photography, paint and time based media. In 1995 as part of her studies she travelled to Seattle, U.S.A. to study at Cornish College of the Arts.
Heloise has set up her own studio to develop her work and still enjoys working with a wide range of media to express her ideas. Primarily however she now works with paint using colour and light to capture the essence of her subject matter.
Throughout her life Heloises soul has been inspired by the natural environment surrounding her. Taking an interest in environmental sustainability and from volunteering at a wildlife rehabilitation centre she has concentrated her work on the landscape, its wildlife and our emotional connection with the land. Now, when not working in her studio, she is often found looking for inspiration in the countryside around her.
Heloises paintings and drawings are inspired by the natural forms found in our landscape as well as the diverse range of life found in it. Looking at native animals and birds she captures their essence through the use of colour, texture and form.
Heloise Maylin now lives and works in Fife, Scotland and exhibits throughout Britain and abroad. She also works to special commission.
Her work is in private and public collections internationally.
